Diageo's Triumph Blended Malt whisky was created in 2010 to celebrate the opening of the company's new Roseisle mega-distillery. Roseisle was Diageo's 28th working malt whisky distillery and the Triumph blended malt was created using spirit from each of its 27 sister distilleries, whose number includes blue chip names like Clynelish, Talisker and Lagavulin.

The Triumph blended malt whisky was bottled at 43% and is subtitled 'On the Shoulders of Giants' in reference to the 27 distilleries included in the recipe. This is a quote from Isaac Newton, from a letter modestly referencing his own prowess - "If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants" - and is now commonly used to denote the evolving nature of scientific progress, building on the work of one's predecessors - a fitting epigraph for the technologically advanced Roseisle distillery.
