The 2023 edition of Kilchoman's much-loved Loch Gorm edition, the distillery's only fully sherry-matured core expression and a popular staple of the range since 2013.
The 2023 Kilchoman Loch Gorm is a limited edition of 18000 bottles assembled from 22 Oloroso sherry butts from sherry bodega Jose y Manuel Martin, with eight casks each from 2013 and 2015, plus six casks filled in 2014.
As ever, Kilchoman Loch Gorm is bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration and is a mouth-watering explosion of dark sherry fruit and Kilchoman's ashy, peaty phenols.

Nose: Hints of cacao with an essence of leather, black cherry and light smoke.
Palate: Roasted hazelnuts, dark chocolate and roasted dark fruits give way to light ashy peat smoke.
Finish: Balanced and long with fresh Islay sea breeze.
Another beautiful dram from Kilchoman. Absolutely bursting with raisin and date aromas and flavours along with a lick of burnt vanilla caramel enrobed in oily peat smoke. The sherry influence, as you'd imagine, is front and centre and while this isn't as smooth and balanced as Sanaig from the same still, for example, it really does stand out as a fine example of the craft. 4.5 out of 5.
