Time for our next fantastic Whisky-Online Tasting - Join us on Zoom on Friday 29th September with our guest host Hugh Barron from James Eadie Ltd for another of our fantastic Whisky-Online Virtual Whisky Tastings!
The original James Eadie was a Scottish brewer who built up a large chain of pubs in the North of England and later became a whisky blender, registering his James Eadie X blended Scotch as a trademark in 1877. The present James Eadie Ltd was founded as an independent bottler in 2016 by Rupert Patrick, the great-great-grandson of James Eadie, and relaunched the James Eadie Trade Mark X blended whisky in 2017 using malts mentioned in Eadie's original cellar books.
Currently Sales Manager for the UK and various export markets, Hugh Baroon has been with James Eadie for over 6 years after getting his start in the drinks trade working at The Whisky Shop while still an undergraduate. On the night, Hugh will be taking us through an excellent selection of drams including a mix of highlights from recent releases alongside a handful of the latest whiskies in the company's Autumn 2023 outturn.

How it works and what you get: 1. Order a tasting pack here. 2. Your pack containing all drams will then be shipped out to you prior to the tasting. The week of the tasting an email with the Zoom link and a 10% discount code to redeem against any whiskies tasted on the evening will be sent. 3. On the 29th of September 2023 click the link at 19:15 GMT (to allow for any technical issues you may encounter) and you will be accepted into the tasting at 19:30. 4. Relax and get ready to pour, listen, taste, and ask as many questions as you wish.

Hugh joined James Eadie six years ago after getting his start in the whisky industry working at The Whisky Shop while still an undergraduate. Today, Hugh is the Sales Manager for James Eadie, building the brand in the UK and various export markets, and is part of the team choosing which whiskies to bottle, alongside Operations Director Leon Kuebler and CEO Rupert Patrick (James Eadie’s great-great-grandson). We look forward to hearing Hugh’s insights on James Eadie’s history.
This tasting evening was brilliant, even though I missed a bit due to technical gremlins at my end. Excellent range of whiskies spanning the James Eadie range, from a blended whisky to cask strength single cask expressions, with a couple from the small batch range in between. Lots of good interaction between the participants, notably Harrison, and Hugh Barron from JE made this an incredible opportunity to learn even more about Scotch single malt whisky. Thanks Whisky Online, these tastings are excellent value!
