Caroni distillery closed in 2003 but has since become a legendary lost distillery, the Caribbean equivalent of Brora or Port Ellen. This single cask 17-year-old Caroni 1998 from Hunter Laing yielded just 258 bottles at its cask strength of 63.1% and was given the 'HTR' mark at the distillery, indicating that it's one of the most sought after styles: the high ester Heavy Trinidad Rum. This will be an epic rum.
