A cask strength pot still Demerara rum from Uitvlugt distillery in Guyana. Distilled in 1974 and bottled 30 years later in 2004 by Cadenhead's, who were years ahead of the curve with these top class mega-strength, mega-flavour pot-distilled Demerara rums from Guyana.
The Uitvlugt distillery closed in 1999 but the rums made on its wooden double pot still - itself a relic from the closed Port Mourant distillery - have passed into legend. Thankfully this extraordinary 30-year-old Uitvlugt rum was bottled by Cadenhead's at natural cask strength without colouring or chill filtration, and remains as a living testament to the distillery's greatness.
