An old bottle of the commemorative Johnnie Walker 15-year-old Gold Label Kilmarnock 400, a very rare and special limited edition of JW Gold bottled in 1992 to mark the 400th anniversary of the granting of burgh status to the town of Kilmarnock.
Kilmarnock is significant in whisky history - the town is where a 15-year-old John Walker took charge of his first grocery shop in 1820, and Kilmarnock remained the spiritual home of Johnnie Walker whisky until Diageo closed their packaging plant in 2012.
This Johnnie Walker 15-year-old Gold Label Kilmarnock 400 was bottled at 43% in an edition of just 1992 bottles and is highly sought-after by collectors.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
