The fourth general release of Bruichladdich's heavily-peated Port Charlotte, PC8 was bottled as an 8-year-old in 2009 from a batch of the 2001 spirit matured in American oak casks.

As with its predecessors, Port Charlotte PC8 was bottled at its full cask strength of 60.5% without colouring or chill filtration, and is a mighty 8-year-old Islay whisky bursting with elemental peatiness. Ar Duthchas is a Gaelic expression meaning both Our Land and Our Heritage, and is an ancient term used to express the deep relationship of a tribe, clan or community with the land that they and their forefathers have inhabited.

Colour: Chartreuse sunshine.

Nose: An updraft of sea spray and peat smoke greets you with spicy pepper and lemon aromas all exploding simultaneously. Spindrift on canvas sails with a tailwind of heather and myrtle. Then the sweetness of oak and malted barley burst through bringing calm for a while before you are swept onto the next wave. Palate – Viscous, rich and oily.
