A lovely old edition of Springbank 15-year-old, bottled in the early 2000s. By the colour it seems likely that this contains a pretty high proportion of sherry-matured Springbank, or includes some whiskies older than 15 years old - or both.
Springbank famously used some very old whiskies in their standard bottlings in the 1990s, so that could well be the case here, but even if it isn't the standard of these old 15-year-old Springbanks is pretty much untouchable. Fantastic stuff for Campbeltown fans.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
