This stunning 1961 Glen Grant was the very first bottling by legendary Italian whisky importer Nadi Fiori from way back in 1983. Like so many of these old Italian import bottlings, it is in a class of its own.
It is a wonderful Glen Grant, quite far departed from the more sherried style associated with this distillery.
Filled with honeysuckle, blossom, pollen, minerals, layers of green and citrus fruits and the most elegant smokiness.
A wonderfully complex, vibrant and compellingly old style whisky that just makes you wonder why modern bottlers even bother.

Edradour may be the hidden gem of malts but this is a hidden gem in their line up. Dark, complex and satisfying, don't hesitate for a second, this is not to be missed at this price point.
Initial Smokey smell then a hint of pear drop.
Tried it without water and it had a sharp burning sensation on the palate as you would expect at this strength but once you added water the sharpness mellowed and the sweet vanilla taste came through.
