Ben Nevis is a distillery enjoying a remarkable surge in popularity right now, so this relaunched Ben Nevis 10-year-old with a very classy minimal new label couldn't have come at a better time. The distillery's earthy, gutsy spirit shines at 46% and was well overdue a revival.
Ben Nevis's owners Nikka have been custodians of the distillery since the late 1980s and now that they won't be needing the distillery's spirit for any of their Japanese blended whiskies we're hoping that this new Ben Nevis 10-year-old is a harbinger of further releases to come.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Abundance of character on the nose with floral, fragrant, honey, citrus fruits of orange and beeswax with elements of toffee and vanilla aromas.
Palate: Initial spicy notes lead to cereal flavours. Smooth creaminess of dark chocolate invites you to sample another drop.
Nothing like the Ben Nevis I've loved in the past.
My bottle of Ben Nevis did not live up to expectations and did not taste anything like the distillery tasting descriptions. Too acidic and vinegary!
I passed my views on to 'Whisky On Line' who said they would pass my thoughts on to Ben Nevis distillery. To the best of my knowledge they said they never received a reply after a couple of emails to them. Sums some of the industry up nowadays.

It’s a fabulous single malt - first discovered in holiday to Scotland. Small batch whisky and is mostly used as a main component of a blended whisky. Lovely smooth taste
The only way to drink an affordable and decent strength Macallan. A strong Sherry influence with a ‘vintage’ feel, akin to a Springbank 21 I drank 25 years ago when you could pick one up without bankrupting yourself
