This Provenance 8-year-old Benrinnes came from a single sherry butt that yielded 798 bottles at a perfect drinking strength of 46%. Benrinnes' meaty, characterful spirit loves sherry casks, so this should be excellent.

Nose: Honey’d barely gives way to dark toffee and equally dark chocolate shavings.
Palate: Oily and thick... detect mocha, spiced oak and just a touch of dried fruits with brown sugar.
Finish: So long – cocoa develops to sawdust which develops to plums and raisins.
