An old bottle of Blairmhor 8-year-old 'pure malt' Scotch whisky released at some point in the 1990s. Blairmhor was bottled by R. Carmichael & Sons, a subsidiary of Inver House, who owned Garnheath, Glen Flagler and Knockdhu at the time this was bottled.
The term 'pure malt' has been outlawed by the SWA since the Cardhu debacle in the early years of this century, as it was deemed to create confusion. Some producers used the term pure malt for single malts, while others used it to denote blended whiskies made using only single malt. This Blairmhor is one of the latter - what is known nowadays as a blended malt.
The product price on margin items include VAT which must not be shown separately or reclaimed as input tax. Input tax has not been and will not be claimed in respect of the margin goods sold.

Edradour may be the hidden gem of malts but this is a hidden gem in their line up. Dark, complex and satisfying, don't hesitate for a second, this is not to be missed at this price point.
Initial Smokey smell then a hint of pear drop.
Tried it without water and it had a sharp burning sensation on the palate as you would expect at this strength but once you added water the sharpness mellowed and the sweet vanilla taste came through.
