A lovely old bottle of Dimple 12-year-old, the famous premium blend from John Haig & Co. We estimate this bottle is from the 1980s, so the whisky inside would have been distilled no later than the mid 1970s and quite possibly earlier. These old Dimple 12-year-olds are generally excellent, with a higher-than-today malt content giving resinous, waxy, oily flavours and a power belying their strength.
Haig and Dimple were best-selling whiskies in postwar UK, but now they're seldom if ever seen on these shores, with the dishonourable exception of Haig Club. The brand is still a serious player in the export market, and got a welcome boost in the US a decade or so ago when it featured prominently in Breaking Bad as Walter White's favourite dram.

It’s a fabulous single malt - first discovered in holiday to Scotland. Small batch whisky and is mostly used as a main component of a blended whisky. Lovely smooth taste
The only way to drink an affordable and decent strength Macallan. A strong Sherry influence with a ‘vintage’ feel, akin to a Springbank 21 I drank 25 years ago when you could pick one up without bankrupting yourself
