Glenfiddich 18-year-old was known as Glenfiddich Ancient Reserve until 2008, the same year that Gordon & MacPhail released the first 70-year-old Speyside single malt whisky. Whether or not these two events were related is not for us to speculate.
Since around 2015, though, the core range 18-year-old Glenfiddich has had the refreshingly less grandiose title of Small Batch Reserve, whose selected 18-year-old ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks are married together in small batches for three months before bottling. Exactly how many casks is considered a Small Batch at Glenfiddich remains a closely-guarded secret, but there've been an awful lot of them, so it might be fewer than you think.

It’s a fabulous single malt - first discovered in holiday to Scotland. Small batch whisky and is mostly used as a main component of a blended whisky. Lovely smooth taste
