A Long Pond 1986 18-year-old single cask Jamaican rum bottled in 2004 at full cask strength without colouring or chill filtration by Cadenhead's, who were miles ahead of the game for these kind of exquisite high-strength single distillery rums.

Long Pond is an historic Jamaican distillery with roots going back to the 18th century and was owned for a time by Seagram's, who used it to make the original rum for their Captain Morgan brand.

This 1986 single cask Long Pond is a rather different proposition, distilled on a continuous still (unusual for Long Pond) and made in the IRW Royal Wedderburn style, so there will be some esters but not a really heavy funk. Cadenhead's bottled this 1986 Long Pond at its massive natural cask strength of 68.3%, so you may find it best with a drop of water.
