Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 48%
The Laphroaig 18 year old Diamond Jubilee presentation. Bottled at 48%, this special edition of Laphroaig 18-year-old was limited to just 3000 bottles released in 2012 to coincide with the national celebrations of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
With the Diamond Jubilee connection and as the youngest whisky in the assemblage was distilled no later than 1994, this Laphroaig 18-year-old has long been considered highly desirable with both drinkers and collectors alike.

Initial Smokey smell then a hint of pear drop.
Tried it without water and it had a sharp burning sensation on the palate as you would expect at this strength but once you added water the sharpness mellowed and the sweet vanilla taste came through.
