A lovely old bottle of the Red Hackle Reserve 12-year-old blended Scotch whisky from the late 1970s. Another of these deluxe old school blends with a bit more age and malt content to give it a much bigger personality and boost in character.
Red Hackle was owned by Robertson & Baxter, and at the time this whisky was bottled the company owned Glengoyne and was itself part-owned by Edrington forerunner Highland Distilleries, whose Glenrothes, Bunnahabhain, Highland Park and Tamdhu malts were known to contribute to R&B's blends.
This is a delicious old Highland blend of the very best kind.

I really like sherry cask finished whisky. I'm saving this little gem to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. I'm certain it will taste like nectar. Thank you Whisky Shop.
