Ruadh Maor is the rare heavily-peated Highland whisky made by Glenturret distillery. Glenturret is very small and Ruadh Maor makes up just a fraction of the annual production, so it's always a pleasure when it crops up.
This Ruadh Maor 2010 has been bottled by Cooper's Choice as a 10-year-old after spending its decade of maturation in an ex-bourbon cask, which yielded 336 bottles at a cask strength of 56%. Ruadh Maor is typically peated at over 80ppm so this one won't be for the fainthearted.

The only way to drink an affordable and decent strength Macallan. A strong Sherry influence with a ‘vintage’ feel, akin to a Springbank 21 I drank 25 years ago when you could pick one up without bankrupting yourself
