Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 54.5%
A single cask St. Magdalene 1982 40-year-old Lowland single malt whisky bottled in 2023 by Gordon & MacPhail without colouring or chill filtration for the Recollections Series #2 in their prestige Private Collection series.
This Private Collection 40-year-old St. Magdalene 1982 was bottled from single cask 2100, a refill American hogshead that yielded 150 bottles at a hearty 54.5% natural cask strength. New bottlings of St. Magdalene (aka Linlithgow) are very thin on the ground these days so we're delighted to see this one on our virtual shelves, for however brief a time.

It’s a fabulous single malt - first discovered in holiday to Scotland. Small batch whisky and is mostly used as a main component of a blended whisky. Lovely smooth taste
The only way to drink an affordable and decent strength Macallan. A strong Sherry influence with a ‘vintage’ feel, akin to a Springbank 21 I drank 25 years ago when you could pick one up without bankrupting yourself
