A robust sherry-finished bourbon from Darkness, who've taken a 12-year-old Tennessee Bourbon (so we know where it's *not* from) and finished it in a small 50-60L octave cask that was recoopered from a Pedro Ximenez sherry butt before bottling in their trademark 50cl bottles at a tempting 52.2%.
The combination of Pedro Ximenez's concentrated dried fruit sweetness and the natural vanilla, toffee and caramel flavours from cask strength Tennessee whiskey ensure that this Darkness 12-year-old sherry-finished bourbon will be a must-have for sweet-toothed whiskey fans.
First off, they only do this in a half litre bottle however what you get Is just amazing and worth every penny.
It comes in at 104.4 proof despite this it’s not heavy on the nose with no burn
This is a perfect aged12 years old bourbon it has a very rich and dark colour and The flavour is extremely luxurious
As this is a finished bourbon, this is very well balanced smooth excellent mouth feel.
For me, you get the hints of the Sherry, dried fruits, warm vanilla and Rich sugar.
