This Provenance 2012 Tullibardine 10-year-old was bottled from a refill hogshead that still supplied plenty of colour and character, yielding 344 bottles at the Provenance standard strength of 46%.

Nose: Shows an early Italian coffee and cream, with a later honey sweetness.
Palate: Rich – full of candied fruit and liquorice plus a drift of late smoke, and subtle spices.
Finish: Attractively piquant, cloves, plus sugar and gently smoking tail.
As the title really. Not unpleasant at all, easier to probably have more than a double in one sitting. An I’ve cube or cold water made it even crisper for me.

It’s a fabulous single malt - first discovered in holiday to Scotland. Small batch whisky and is mostly used as a main component of a blended whisky. Lovely smooth taste
The only way to drink an affordable and decent strength Macallan. A strong Sherry influence with a ‘vintage’ feel, akin to a Springbank 21 I drank 25 years ago when you could pick one up without bankrupting yourself
